The Scottish Borders Community Plan highlights cross-border inequalities and how the CPR, in collaboration with local communities and businesses, can address these inequalities and improve outcomes. The Orkney Community Planning Partnership is called « The Orkney Partnership » and is the lead agency for joint work in Orkney. A community planning partnership (or CPR) is the name given to all departments that come together to participate in community planning. There are 32 PPCs across Scotland – one for each municipality. Each CPP is responsible for developing and delivering a plan for its municipal territory. Community planning is about how public institutions work with local communities to develop and deliver better services that truly change people`s lives. An updated plan to improve local outcomes and local plans for the period 2017-2027 have been developed in consultation with communities and our partners. The Outer Hebrides Community Planning Partnership (OHCPP) includes a wide range of partners from public authorities and municipal and third-party sectors who work together to achieve our shared ambitions for the future of our islands. Comhairle is represented on the Board of Directors of the Outer Hebrides Community Planning Partnership by elected members, the Executive Director and the Senior Director of Strategy. The Empowering Communities (Scotland) Act 2015 aims to raise the level of ambition of community planning by establishing a legal obligation to improve outcomes and ensuring that: community participation is at the heart of community planning and applies to the development, design and implementation of plans, and their review, revision and report. Advice is no longer enough – PPCs and community planning partners must act to ensure community participation throughout the project. Community planning is the process by which we and other public bodies work with local communities, businesses and community groups to plan and deliver better services and improve the lives of people living in Scotland. The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 creates new rights for community institutions and introduces new obligations for public authorities, strengthening the voice of communities in decisions that are important to them. The law also strengthens the legal basis for community planning. The Board of Directors of the Inverclyde Alliance is a partnership involving local councils. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde; Greenock Chamber of Commerce; Greenock and District Trades Council; Inverclyde Council; Jobcenter Plus; Scottish Society; skills development in Scotland; Scottish Fire and Rescue; Strathclyde partnership for Transportl Police Scotland; Voluntary representation of the sector, facilitated by CVS Inverclyde; West College Scotland.
The Board of Directors of the Inverclyde Alliance is chaired by the Chairman of the Board of Inverclyde. Many organizations are involved in community planning. These partners have a legal obligation to facilitate community planning: Orkney Islands Council, NHS Orkney, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. Other organizations have a duty to participate in the process, have been co-opted or play an important role as members of one of our delivery groups. Every region in Scotland is required to have a community planning partnership. Community planning includes councils and other public institutions that work with local communities, businesses, charities and volunteer groups. Together, we plan and coordinate measures and resources to provide better services and improve the lives of local people. Community planning is based on the simple idea that if we all work together more effectively, public services will improve for those who use them. Under the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015, the Scottish Government requires the CPP to address local challenges and improve local outcomes, with a particular focus on reducing inequalities by working in partnership and with local communities and businesses.
The vision of the Outer Hebrides Community Planning Partnership is to promote and realize the full potential of the Outer Hebrides as a thriving, well-educated and healthy community that enjoys a good quality of life and fully appreciates the benefits of our natural environment and cultural values. Local organizations work together and share resources so they can identify local issues and use their shared knowledge to better plan and ensure the well-being of the community. These local maps are promoted in the case of territorial partnerships. Orkney Islands Council works closely with other organisations to provide services to the local community. Much of the Council`s joint work with local organizations takes place within the framework of community planning. The partnership is the set of public, private, third-party and municipal organizations that provide local services to Falkirk and serve the local community. Community planning is a way of working that puts service users at the heart of better service delivery, as partners in the public sector, the not-for-profit sector and the private sector work together more effectively and efficiently. It is a development process that aims to influence how general resources are used for joint service delivery and improved outcomes for the community as a whole.
The essence of community planning is « A partnership that works between public agencies, the voluntary sector, the community and businesses in a region, with a shared vision used to identify priorities to improve service delivery for the sustainable benefit and well-being of the community. » The Inverclyde Alliance is the community planning partnership for Inverclyde. Effective community planning brings together the talents and collective resources of local public services and communities to bring about positive changes to local priorities. It focuses on areas where partners` shared efforts and resources can create the greatest value for their local communities – with a focus on reducing inequalities. Community planning is the process by which local services and communities work together to address inequalities within the local community. The law does not focus on a new approach, but on a natural evolution of the ongoing reform of public services, which gained further momentum with the publication of the Christie Commission report in 2011. In particular, Community Planning Partnerships (CDPs) will be given new powers and higher expectations to increase ambitions to reduce inequalities and improve community participation. These authorities and expectations have three fundamental elements: a plan to improve local outcomes; requests to participate; Transfer of assets. The Orkney Partnership developed the Orkney Community Plan as a commitment to the people of Orkney. It describes what we want to achieve by working in partnership, beyond what we could achieve as individual organizations. .
